What can I expect from therapy?
You can expect to be treated with respect, honesty and kindness, listened to and supported during our time together. Explore therapy in a safe and confidential space and discover what’s holding you back or keeping you stuck, so that you can overcome your difficulties and be free to thrive and flourish in life.
What does the 30 minute complimentary session consist of?
This is a telephone consultation where you have an opportunity to speak with me and ask any questions or discuss potential concerns that you may have before committing to a paid session. Likewise, we’ll discover if I am the right therapist for you and have the expertise that you are looking for.
What happens during the first full session?
The first full session is an Initial Assessment (IA) that gives you the opportunity to tell your story, discuss the reasons for seeking therapy and outline what you hope to gain, achieve or overcome. More importantly, this session also gives both of us an opportunity to see if we can form an alliance and work together in an ongoing way.
How regularly should the sessions take place?
Typically, I see clients once-a-week for a minimum of 8-10 weeks. However, this is flexible and can change in line with your needs. We will constantly review this throughout the sessions, to achieve the best outcome for you.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend a session, I require a minimum of 24 hours notice before the session, so that we can reschedule. If you miss a session without any communication within the 24 hour period, you will be charged for that session.
How do I pay for the sessions?
I charge £50 per session; payment is to be made via bank transfer, at the latest, 24 hours before the session. You can pay on a session-by-session basis or book multiple sessions in advance; the choice is yours.
How do I know if the counselling is working?
Are you beginning to feel more hopeful, calmer, or understand yourself better? Do you find that you are communicating more effectively? We will openly discuss your progress, including what’s helpful, what’s working and what’s not and we will make adjustments as we go based on your needs.
